The Final Project Meeting of the european project “Energetic Sustainability at the SUDOE Region: PEMFC-SUDOE Network”, took place last June 20th, 2019 at the University of Cantabria (Cantabria, Spain). Dr. Alfredo Ortiz, as project coordinator welcomed all the partners and presented them a summary of the last action that have to be developed in order to finish the project. Afther that the leader of each workpackage presented the main results obtained during the whole project and the prototypes developed in the frame of the project were also presented. ![]() |

As part of the activitites of the european project “Energetic Sustainability at the SUDOE region: PEMFC-SUDOE Network the workshop “Renewable Hydrogen Energy World” took place on June 20-21, 2019 at the University of Cantabria, during the celebration of the 3rd International Congress of Chemical Engineering ANQUE-ICCE 3. The event was chaired by Prof. Alfredo Ortiz (Universidad de Cantabria, Spain), Prof. Deborah Jones (Institut Charles Gerhardt Montpellier, CNRS) and Prof. Carmen Rangel (LNEG - Laboratório Nacional de Energia e Geologia, Portugal), with the support of the Spanish Hydrogen Association AeH2 and the Direção Geral de Energia e Geologia (Portugal). - April 4th, 2019 - Roadtrip at the ETSIIT of the University of Cantabria, Cantabria, Spain
On April 4th, 2019 Interreg Sudoe Program organized a Roadtrip at the ETSIIT of the University of Cantabria, aimed at presenting the Interreg SUDOE Program to students of the Chair Jean Monnet of the University of Cantabria. This event was organized in the frame of the Cooperation Days of Interreg Sudoe Program by the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg SUDOE Program. The event was attended by Isabelle Roger, Head of the Joint Secretariat of Interreg SUDOE Program, Andrea Rodríguez, responsible for Communication and Capitalization of the Joint Secretariat of Interreg SUDOE Program; Alexandre Le Gall, project manager of the Joint Secretariat of Interreg SUDOE Program; Juan Llanes Cavia from the Management Authority of the Interreg Sudoe Program and Ana Carrera Poncela, from the Board of Directors of the Management Company of the Interreg South-West European Space SL During the event, Andrea Rodríguez, talk about the International Cooperation: INTERREG SUDOE PROGRAM. After that, a round table took place with the participation of the coordinators of the projects: REPARP, SUDOE STOP CO2, THICHRON and PEMFC_SUDOE. After the round table, the students had the opportunity of asking the coordinators about the specific projects. Then, Alfredo Ortiz, coordinator of PEMFC_SUDOE project, presented the project in a more detailed way and after that the students had the opportunity of visiting the labs in which the PEMFC_SUDOE project is performed in the University of Cantabria. Moreover, the H2 bike prototype, developed as on deliverable of PEMFC_SUDOE Project, was presented to the audience. Tiago Lagarteira, from the University of Porto and Pierre Carrere, from the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, attended the 8th International Conference on Fundamentals and Development of Fuel Cells – FDFC 2019, celebrated in Nantes (France) from February 12 to 14, 2019. In the congress, Tiago Lagarteira delivered the conference “Nature of the high stability of Graphene-supported catalysts upong accelerated stress tests for fuel cells: electrochemical and physicochemical evidences”. This work has been developed by researchers of LEPABE (Laboratory for process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy) of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (Portugal) in collaboration with researchers of the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department of the University of Cantabria (Spain), in the frame of the european project Energy sustainability at the SUDOE Region: Red PEMFC-SUDOE. - December 2017, Research Internship
Paula Ribao performed a predoctoral research internship at the Laboratório Nacional de Energia e Geologia (LNEG) in Lisbon (Portugal) under the supervision of Dr. Carmen Rangel, from September to December 2017. During this period, she worked on the photocatalytic hydrogen production from model and real industrial effluents. The main objective was to evaluate the ability of novel photocatalytic materials to obtain energy from organic wastewaters. This internship was able thanks to the collaborations established in the frame of the project PEMFC-SUDOE. |

- 26 September 2016 : Kick-Off Meeting, University of Cantabria, Spain
On September 26th 2016, the European PEMFC-SUDOE Project consortium partners met in Santander at the University of Cantabria for the official kick-off meeting with the participation of 16 scientists belonging to nine different research centers and companies from the SUDOE region. The event was officially opened by Dr. Javier León Serrano, vice chancellor for research and knowledge transfer of the University of Cantabria, which acts as the main beneficiary of the project and conducted by Dr. Alfredo Ortiz, project coordinator The main goals of the project, work packages, structures, administrative and financial management and dissemination activities were discussed. |
